Apple Betty and Sloppy Joe Stirring Up the Past with Family Recipes and Stories
From relish trays and marshmallow on a stick, to cucumber salad and birthday cake frosting - this book stirred many forgotten memories for me. I was delighted with the authors' own stories, as well as their great old recipes. Part s memoir, part cookbook I love this! From the first page, it brought back so many good memories of my mom, and a lot of the deliciousness coming from the kitchen! I received this lovely book free from LT for an honest review. I am so glad these nice ladies decide to write it, and I'm so happy to have received a copy. Pick one up for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

We used to ride our bikes into it. Lots of good afternoons and weekends spent there! I was just thinking about Sloppy Joes!! So glad to see this! I have the same piggy spatula thingy as well! I think I got mine at Big Lots santa put it in my Christmas stocking! It is not a food safety thing, just a good way to save some calories and make it taste better.

Hope that helps. Reading this made me think I was reading my daily devotion and Jesus was talking right to me. But you are right.
Thanks for the reminder, Christy. Christy, I love your recipes and your website. The simplicity and photos are wonderful. I am having a problem though. Ever since the day the Cracker Pie came on line your pages will never completely load so I cannot print the pages anymore. It says that you cannot print the pages until it finishes loading. Do you have any suggestions for help for me. Thanks and keep up your great work!!! I have a picky eater in my family and one who does not like chunks of tomatoes. Would it work to use tomato sauce or tomato paste instead of the diced tomatoes? Love your site!
Apple Betty and Sloppy Joe: Stirring Up the Past with Family Recipes and Stories
Run those tomatoes thru the blender or get the crushed ones they sell at Walmart. No chunks then. I had already decided to make Sloppy Joes for dinner tonight when I saw your recipe.
I will make your recipe next time. We always put the mustard on the meat mixture too, instead of mixing it in, but this sure does sound good!
Glad somebody else has trouble printing your page. I thought it was my computer but I guess it is something at your end. What a good idea to cook the meat from the raw state and not fry it before. I boil ground meat and save the water for soup. Wondering what that gadjet is that you are using to break up the meat in the pot.
I want one! Chop n Stir, or something similar. Loved your message up there, Christy. Getting those dirt necklaces was always a heck of a lot of fun!micomvare.tk

I grew up wearing dirt necklaces too. We lived down a dirt road until i started 3rd grade. I would also follow my big brothers down to the wooden bridge and we would fish thru the cracks between the boards.
LOL, I just had a vision in my head of you and your brothers catching a big fish and trying to figure out how you were going to keep it! It was right across the street from my house and full of prickly sandspurs that always stuck to our socks. Thanks, Christy! Hmm, am I the only one wondering if I could just paint my crock-pot up all cute like that?
A great easy weekend food, right? Added stuff to empty out my fridge….
