It was nice to see that there were more than just vampires, but with the witches it give it more pizazz. The following of Sophia and Nate was understandable because of what Sophia saw her brother do to someone he loved and Sophia trying to resist lov Immortal Embrace is not like a Twilight movie or book. The following of Sophia and Nate was understandable because of what Sophia saw her brother do to someone he loved and Sophia trying to resist love with someone that was meant to be with her as a soulmate made it more exciting to see her resist the love she was beginning to feel for Nate but not wanting to go thru what her brother did.
It's a five star book and deserves more. Can't wait for the entire series as I have followed this series. I think the book was well written and kudos on excellent writting. I was chosen as a teen test reader prior to publication and I read this book in 6 hours and I just couldn't put it down! This book made the characters come to life and it felt as if I was watching a movie of it in my head and honestly I liked it better then twilight! I recommend this book to young adults, teens, adults and really just anyone who like vampire romance and it even throws in a little bit of witches for you.
SO, if your like me and like the shows charmed, vampire diaries, ect I was chosen as a teen test reader prior to publication and Sophia is a Vampire moving to a new school with her family after her brother accidentally killed his girlfriend by greedily drinking her blood. With some magic they are able to live amongst the mortals in the daylight and lead seemingly normal lives. A teenager and condemned to an eternal life rather than blessed with it Sophia falls for Nat "Immortal Embrace" by Charlotte Blackwell is a great effort by a new author that combines Vampires, witchcraft, suspense and romance - all for young adults.
A teenager and condemned to an eternal life rather than blessed with it Sophia falls for Nathaniel, a mortal. Sophia has been embraced a long time ago, [i. Now that she is in love she has to face the challenges of trusting her love and her conflicting feelings as a vampire, she has to make new friends and stay safe. While there are some minor stylistic issues in this book, Blackwell does one thing very well and that is to show us the fragile mind of a teenager trapped in a tough world, a girl that has the same issues as all the normal and mortal girls and to whom her magic and her powers are more of a threat than a gift.
I loved the sensitive and empathetic way in which the author brings the mind of Sophia to life and how well she portrays the romance between her and Nathaniel. A great story of vampires coming to age. It's moving and heart warming.
The characters are people you take into your heart and keep them there. Charlotte Blackwell's first story in the Embrace series is a great beginning and I see this series becoming one that adults as well as teens will read over and over. Sophia was turned into a vampire over years ago. Nathaniel is human, they are totally attracted to each other! There are witches, bad vamps, good vamps and a great storyline!

Immortal Embrace, Embrace Series Book 1 by Charlotte Blackwell
This immortal family of vampires are very devoted to the well being of their extended family members. The younger members are sent back to high school to help the newly turned Danika adjust to living as a human. On their first day of high school, Sophia meets her human soul mate Nathaniel.
This story is her struggle to fully accept her soul mate and whatever fate has intended. A good start to this vampire family saga. Jul 22, Denise C rated it it was amazing. If you like YA vampire fiction, you'll love this book. I enjoyed the characters as they are very true to how I felt as a teen. The reluctance to love and friendships, the sibling rivalry all adds to this story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I finished this one in one weekend. Reading Immortal Embrace pulled me right into the story.
It moves smoothly and plays out like a movie when reading. Well done. Aug 29, Tanya rated it it was amazing. It had been 30 years since her brother left and she is still missing him but her life is about to change. She meets her soul mate. Follow her as she learns how things can be different. The first book in the Embrace series and I want to read the other books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Aug 22, Rachel Benham rated it it was amazing. To live for so long, Sophia didn't think she would ever be happy. Then she found Nate, her soul mate. She is wary of the connection at first but then, with a nudge from her family she lets him in, even on her secret that she is a vampire. This book has wonderfully written characters and the story plot is great. I can't wait to see what happens into the next book. I was contacted by the author of this book and asked if I would read it in exchange for an honest review.
I read the blurb and an extract on her website and decided it looked good and so accepted. Sophia Pierce is a Vampire, she never wanted this life but has learnt to deal with the consequences, her adopted family live by rules and refuse to feed off of mortals, they control their cravings and live on donated blood or animal blood.
They try to blend into society and come across as a normal lovi I was contacted by the author of this book and asked if I would read it in exchange for an honest review. They try to blend into society and come across as a normal loving family. There is now a new member to the family,Danika, she has to be integrated and needs to learn the rules and her control. Sophia and her siblings head back to school to keep an eye on Danika and get her back into society.
Sophia doesn't particularly want to go back to school, she's done it all before and prefers to keep to herself, not get attached to anyone, that is until she meets Nathanial, the school hottie and it's love at first sight. Sophia must learn to open up and accept herself so others can accept her too. I loved the twist of this story, the vampires weren't all blood-sucking monsters, but rather a special family unit that although different, wanted to be a part of others lives and were kind, caring, loyal and loving.
I really felt a warmth and attraction to the family and almost felt like a part of their unit. Nathanial sounds great, I wish I could find me someone like him, he is so understanding of everything, loving and sounds good looking too.
I could just imagine his adoring smile. I was sent the pdf version as I don't have an e-reader so I could only read it in the evenings when I was home with my computer, when I had to log off, I found myself wondering what would happen next and I struggled to read a different book, as I couldn't keep my thoughts off this one.
I ended up reading it in three sessions, but it didn't take me long at all. I was captured into the story and felt like I was standing along side the characters. For a first time novel, I am excited to see what else Charlotte will release. Most of all I am looking forward to book two in this series, as this book doesn't come to a complete conclusion, it's left me on tenterhooks and I want to know what will happen.

I did an interview with the author a few weeks ago, if you want to know more about Charlotte Blackwell and her work, read it here. I really hate to give a 1 star or a bad review Truthfully reading this book was painful for me.
The writing wasn't my cup of tea. I've read far better written things in first person and its my least favourite voice to have a book in. I felt like the author and her characters kept saying the same thing over and over and over again.

Sophia's indecision Then how much everyone loved everyone else in the family. I'm not sure what year they were in Wenham but I'm pretty sure a normal teenage guy didn't talk like him. I felt Luke was more believable and spoke more like a real guy. I just couldn't attach to any character. And that's important to me as a reader. I think the biggest thing for me was the lack of passion in the characters and lack of real character development. We just didn't see enough of it, and I could not bring myself to personally care about a single character.
